Is Your Business Suffering from Comparisonitis?
Have you ever felt yourself comparing your achievements, your body, your business, your income, your [insert anything at all] to others?
There’s actually a name for it … Comparisonitis. Yes, it’s a real thing!
The definition of Comparisonitis is: The compulsion to compare one’s accomplishments to another’s to determine relative importance
Comparisonitis is very rarely (if ever) a good thing.
The definition tells us that we’re only doing this thing to determine our own importance … which suggests we only do it when we don’t feel important or secure … Comparisonitis is derived from Fear.
Think about it … when we’re comparing something (our blog, social media following, dress size, written work, income, etc) to someone else’s we rarely do it during times where we’re feeling fantastic … During those times of greatness we aren’t comparing ourselves to others – we’re too occupied with feeling great and celebrating our own success.
But what can we do about it and when is Comparisonitis OK?
In this weeks’ video blog I’m sharing ways to avoid Comparisonitis … I’m also going to give you the inside information on the ONE time that Comparisonitis is OK … maybe even essential, for success … you can watch it here.
Have a wonderful week!
